kev mgmt’s talents are in a league of their own

New York based agent Kevin Chung manages a family of rare talent that shine across the world of models, dancers, actors, artists, musicians and influencers.

In other words, a multi-hyphenated galore of extraordinariness – creatives in the true sense. Over a short amount of time, Chung has managed to carve out his own niche of representation in the blurry landscape of what beauty looks like now, and has done this in the most elegant and compassionate fashion.

What is kev mgmt ?

kev mgmt is a boutique talent management agency providing personalized management for a diverse roster of multi-hyphenated creatives, models, artists who are movers and shakers in their own communities. We celebrate self-awareness and self-discovery through the arts while acknowledging our existence, identity and voice. Basically, we are uniquely talented individuals with similar backgrounds + stories who are spearheading for change in the industry.

I’ve experienced firsthand how your group of talent feels like a family… How did you assemble such a unique group of people?

It truly does feel like a chosen family — we all come from different walks of life; but we are bonded together by our uniqueness + by our need for our stories to be heard. We all come from different marginalized communities. I would say that even in my personal life; I have such a diverse group of friends and it translates well into the work that I do.

How do you describe what makes your agency and the people in it special?

I pride myself on curating a diverse roster of individuals. On top of that, we emphasize representing individuals with diverse talents as well. I am inspired by individuals who can express themselves in a multitude of ways and through different mediums of art.

How do you go about finding new talent ?

Most of my talent have been referred to me by word of mouth. Instagram + TikTok have made it very easy for me to scout talent as well.

What is important to you in your everyday communication with your talent?

Transparency is super important to me when it comes to any kind of communication. I want to make sure that I’m providing a safe space where models / talent can feel comfortable coming to me about whatever it is they may be going though that may potentially impact our workflow. I always say it’s better to over-communicate than under-communicate.

You have a clear point of view, which you share frequently online, about finding a sustainable work/life balance. Can you tell me more about this?

I’ve hustled all my life — from working as a barista, bartender and waiter to being a dog-walker + baby-sitter, to receptionist. I did not know what having a sustainable work/life balance meant. The reason I have hustled was not only to make sure I can pay my rent + bills; but also because I felt like the work I was pumping out was “never enough.” As I have gotten older, I realized I needed better boundaries with work. Quality time with myself + my partner is paramount and I’d like to do that without distractions from my work. Work will always be there the next day.

What does beauty mean to you and how do you define it?

My definition of beauty is loving yourself for who you are and accepting others for who they are. Beauty is a means of empowering yourself through self-expression and self-love.

Where do you see yourself going next ?

I am very open to where the universe takes me next. I am riding the wave here. I’ve thought about opening up a photo studio next door OR even starting a cafe.
