Last night, Submission Beauty finally opened the doors with a bang to our first brick-and-mortar store in the heart of Silver Lake, on LA’s east side. A night of endless treats, music and connecting ensued, all wrapped in a cloud of glitter
Situated at 3021 Rowena Avenue, the shop is ensconced among like-minded neighbors including nature collective and community hub Usal, “high-minded” lifestyle boutique Mister Green, local art gallery Marta, and native plant nursery Plant Material. Submission’s exclusive space features custom design elements and unique repurposed furnishings, all in keeping with the brand’s zero- plastic, sustainable ethos. The new boutique serves as the brand’s flagship, a tangible customer touchpoint where our community are welcomed to explore Submission’s line of plastic-free glitters and balm, hand-tailored upcycled shirts, and totes made from 100% repurposed cotton. The shop also offers a selection of secondhand books, some of our favorite magazines and resources with a focus on artful environmentalism.
Entertainment ranged from live jazz by local band Sparker and free flash tattoos by headache_pill_ in the late afternoon to a series of DJ sets as the sun set, with refreshments from Vervet , Juneshine and Madre Mescal as well as fresh pizza baked on-site by Lucky Nick’s, and party favors courtesy of Pure Beauty.
