A love letter from GANNI

For FW22, GANNI cleverly revisited their virtual format from last year and put on a bang of a live concert instead of an IRL runway show. Taking the reign at Copenhagen’s famed venue VEGA, the incredible Copenhagen chanteuse Jada swooned us all with a slew of hits, while she and her gang of #GANNIgirls wore the new collection – and Submission Beauty Glitter, naturally.

In the best possible way, this was a preview of things to come: A hopeful, buoyant and explosive embrace of the world opening back up again with a song.

GANNI’s creative director Ditte always lands at music as her biggest source of inspiration, and this collection was a subtly inspired love letter to two of her biggest muses – Björk and PJ Harvey. Clever to not let this inspiration get literal, there were quiet nods instead, using a  generous handful of sparkling sequins and shiny metallic accents. Ever the rule breaker – like her teenage idols – Ditte paired this with vegan cowboy boots and granny staples such as vintagy florals, dainty buttons and doily-esque crochet lace.

Laced among the looks in the video presentation was a special blend of our Submission Beauty Glitter. For the occasion, we concocted a mix of two differently sized sparkles in one of our signature color, pale pink. The perfect finishing touch for the eco-conscious #GANNIgirl – a sustainable and fabulous wardrobe deserves a pop of mindfully crafted glam.

“This season is all about high energy, channeling hope and optimism as the world opens up again and greeting it with confidence. The team has worked even closer putting this together, strengthening our feeling of togetherness.”  Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director, GANNI

“What excites me the most about this collection is how far we’ve come with using responsible materials. Almost all RTW styles in the show are classified as ‘responsible’, meaning at least 50% of the composition is certified organic, lower-impact or recycled. That’s massive for us. We are on a journey to become a more responsible version of ourselves and I’m super proud of what we have achieved with this collection.” Ditte Reffstrup, Creative Director, GANNI
