Dusting off our newest love - Glitter Dusted in Action

As the sun set in LA last night, we invited some of our nearest and dearest to experience our new Glitter Dusted with a little show and tell at our flagship store. A gathering of some of our favorite beauty enthusiasts, artists and lovers saw first hand how to play with the newest addition to the family of Submission Beauty products.

Thursday night at our Silverlake Flagship, Submission threw a little party and showed off our new Dusted Glitter. An evening of nibbles, bubbles and a lot of sparkly fun, guests enjoyed experimenting with the new possibilities Dusted offers.

A little-known fact about conventional glitter is that the FDA warns against using it close to your eyes. Traditional plastic glitter can interfere with the eye and contact lenses, causing tears, irritation and in extreme cases, irreparable damage.

Just like our other glitters, Dusted Glitter is very different from that standard. We’ve replaced the plastic base used in conventional glitter with a base made with cellulose from eucalyptus trees. This plant-based material creates a unique iridescent effect without the use of toxic ingredients, giving the product a more sophisticated aesthetic and a broader range of applications than plastic glitter. Plus, it feels 40% softer on the skin and scalp. 

The glitter can be applied with the fingers, or using a makeup brush. Our glitter is bleed resistant and FDA-approved for usage around the eyes. It is also suitable for the body as well as for water-based applications, soaps, oils, and more.

Unlike plastic glitter, our glitter is not a scourge on the environment—once it is washed off the body, hair and clothing and comes in contact with bacteria and microorganisms in natural waterways, it quickly breaks down into harmless substances, earning it the highest level of independent certification for fresh water biodegradability in the world. Our glitter is also delivered in Zero-plastic packaging and shipping materials.
