Issue 00: In Print, In Person

After five years online, Submission Magazine enters print. Issue 00 marks a beginning and a collecting - 200+ stories distilled into something you can hold. To launch it, we gathered our community in three cities and watched the pages come to life.

We launched Submission Magazine Issue 00 the only way we know how:
by turning it into a reason to gather.

Three parties. Three cities.
Copenhagen. New York. Los Angeles.
And somehow - the same feeling in every room.

Submission was born online, in between makeup and meaning, where beauty could be language: protest, love letter, desire. For five years we’ve spoken in images, building a world that’s cleaner, queerer, softer, harder. A world that keeps asking:

What if beauty had a conscience?

Now, we’re in print.
The pixels have weight.

Our first print magazine gathers five years of Submission Magazine online - 200+ stories and hundreds of voices - into something you can actually live with. Something you can toss in your bag, leave on your coffee table, press flat with your palm, flip through at 2AM. A magazine for people who still want to feel things.

We celebrated the release the way we celebrate everything: with community.

In Copenhagen, there was a snowstorm. Real winter. Wind that stung your face. People showed up to Kiosk anyway. They came in with wet shoes and red cheeks and stayed until the room was warm. Coats piled. Drinks sweated. Pages turned.

In New York, Issue 00 passed from hand to hand over sticky tables at Holiday Cocktail Lounge. Glitter got everywhere. One friend danced like it was their religion. Another stood still, reading. The night had that very specific NYC feeling - a familiar dive bar, like a reunion, like you could disappear into it and still be held.

In Los Angeles, we came home.
Our Echo Park flagship filled up fast. The red light hit the windows. The street outside went dark. Inside, people hugged like they meant it. The final party didn’t feel like an ending. It felt like a door opening.

Across all three nights, we saw the same thing:
People stopped talking and started reading.

“I remember this.” “I was there.” “I’m in this.”

Issue 00 features a selection of voices from the past five years — artists, activists, scientists, musicians, cultural outliers. Marina Testino. Gary Gill. Yadim. Aariana Rose Philip. Hillary Taymour. Casper Sejersen. CumGirl8. And many more.

But the magazine belongs to more than what’s printed inside it. It belongs to everyone who helped build Submission in the first place - the contributors, the collaborators, the readers, the ones who kept showing up and refusing to treat beauty like it’s harmless.

Because Submission Beauty exists to prove something simple and difficult: luxury can be responsible without losing edge.

Issue 00 is made with that same commitment. Printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper, produced with renewable energy, and held together with a natural rubber and cotton band.
No excess for the sake of it. No waste disguised as glamour.

These pages are proof that responsibility can shine.
That clean can still have edge
That luxury can be ethical - and still a little filthy.

And that Submission - true submission - means surrendering to what’s actually real.
Surrendering the ego. Submitting to Mother Earth.

Thank you for celebrating with us.
Thank you for reading, for raging, for dreaming.
Thank you for showing up - in the snow, in the glitter, and in the homecoming.

Hold this magazine like a promise.

Issue 00.
The beginning.
