SS27: Caro Editions After Midnight

For designer Caroline Bille Brahe, the best nights never quite end when the club closes. They continue through the walk home with friends, the final drink and the conversations that stretch into daylight. Caro Editions SS27 returned to that feeling through a collection built around excess, nostalgia and the freedom of no longer caring what anyone thinks. The clothes were tighter and sexier, styled with the instinct to wear everything at once. This was the Caro Editions woman after midnight: still dressed for the night, but no longer interested in behaving perfectly.

The show unfolded outside a fictional nightclub somewhere between Los Angeles, Berlin and Paris, with the audience positioned as witnesses to the aftermath of a legendary night. Models emerged through the doors one by one, caught in rapid flashes before disappearing into waiting cars or back into the dark. Caroline drew from memories of dressing up to go out and Princess Diana’s off-duty revenge era—capri pants, oversized sweatshirts, sunglasses and the confidence of dressing entirely for yourself. Rhinestones, embroidery and humor carried that attitude through the collection.

Submission Beauty entered the story at the moment the women stepped outside. Zenia Jaeger approached the makeup as something that had already been sweated through and worn away rather than freshly applied. A custom mix of gold, silver and iridescent glitter was smeared around the eyes and left in sparse traces underneath them, as though a full glitter eye had migrated and mostly disappeared over the course of the night. Highlighter Deep was pressed across the cheeks and nose, while layers of Balm Shiny gave the skin the damp flush of hours spent dancing. No perfect lines here. Outside, camera flashes caught only fragments: a shoulder, a rhinestone, glitter collecting beneath the eyes.
