Submission Beauty x Rave Review SS25
Rave Review are longing for a simple life. How do we manage the speed and chaos of modern city-living, which inevitably comes at the expense of craft and care? The Swedish brand took us back to the roots with their SS25 presentation, mirroring their own current journey where they want to get back to emphasizing the brand’s core of sustainability, upcycling and craft. A journey that Submission naturally was thrilled to be a part of.
See more below for a look into how that translated onto the runway, yesterday afternoon in Milan

“Compared to our last show, we’re doing something much more soft and less punky. We took a lot of inspiration from the Swedish countryside, rustic objects and fabrics, and it feels very much like where we are as a brand at the moment: more soft and kind but still with a playful twist”
Rave Review’s Livia Schück and Josephine Bergqvist
“We sourced a lot of the materials second hand, one of the fabrics in a skirt for example is from Josephine’s granny’s house. A lot of the materials are also deadstock. We created "new" materials inspired from second hand also, like the tea towel-like embroidered organza pieces.”

“It’s a dream to work with the Submission team again - we love what they do and they bring so much energy.”

“This collection is about softness and has a sense of ease, so we wanted to do minimal and clean skin for everyone. The collection takes cues from the Swedish countryside, and we were inspired by the simplicity of this imagery; we wanted to see skin texture and freckles - there are no flaws in anyone’s face.”
Zenia Jaeger, key makeup artist for the show and founder of Submission Beauty
“Highlighter Lucid was the hero product of this show. We used it all over the face and body, which gives the skin a doll-like innocent, glowy and soft finish. Balm Shiny also came in to play on eyes and as a gloss on the lips, giving both a shine that almost reads glass-like.”

“This collection is about simple life vs city life, so we wanted to translate the sharpness of city living into the look. For a number of models, we created a sharp white eye liner that framed the eye, by using watercolors — something a bit more graphic to contrast the illuminated skin”
