“After losing my house in the fires, it has become more important than ever to live responsibly. It really brought into focus for me that tangible things don't matter - stuff is just stuff. I’m not grieving shoes or handbags. I'm grieving over the baby blanket my mum made for my kids. The first love letters my husband ever wrote to me, that I had stashed away to reflect on years from now. Boxes of polaroids and keepsakes. I want to direct my focus and attention to everything that breathes - the people I love , the living world around me”

“My earliest memory of beauty? My mothers face, being curled up on her lap in the sunlight.”

“Beauty is rawness and honesty, the natural state of things without agenda or motive.”

“Whenever I feel anxious I always look at images of constellations, planets, galaxies. It reminds me how small I am and how little my problems matter.”

“Sustainability means taking responsibility for how we exist on this earth and how we can maximize the value of what we already have. After losing my house and everything I’ve ever owned, I realized how much stuff we had that we didn’t use or need, how many things I was buying. It’s only in starting from scratch that I’m really thinking ‘ok, do I really need that?’. It’s an opportunity to live intentionally, and minimally.”
