Yaeger Wants You To Feel Everything (and Look Great Doing It)
There’s something about Yaeger that sticks with you. Maybe it’s the vocals - soft like a secret, sharp like a warning - layered over gut-punch pop. Maybe it’s the way she makes melancholia sound euphoric? Or maybe it’s the full-body presence, a look that swings from sci-fi romantic to thrifted rave kid, eyes rimmed in something shiny, always a little off-center, never off-point.
Yaeger is part pop star, part storyteller, part sweet delusion. Her world is emotional and surreal, intimate and blown-out. Crying on the dancefloor is encouraged here and looking like an alien pirate angel is part of the ritual. We finally crossed paths with her at Roskilde Festival this summer, where we did her makeup just before she took the stage - and from that moment on, we knew we were in.
Yaeger is an artist built on guts, glow, and go-time. You’ll want to keep watching.

Tell us a bit about who you are and what Yaeger is all about ?
I like nice people. I specifically love delusional or odd-nice people. I love fashion and expressing myself in clothes and makeup, mostly from scraps mixed with designer. My favorite exquisite combo, yummie. The way other artists have helped me find myself and actually taught me things, I want that for others. I want girls, boys, women, men, aliens, to bump my music and be like mmhmm yeah that’s it let’s go give in to that urge we have in our bodies, let’s live a little. If I can give the listener a little spark, in any way possible, I’m happy.
Maybe that spark can help them finally tell their bully to fuck themselves! Maybe the bully is themselves. Mine definitely is.

To those who aren’t familiar with your music yet - How would you describe your sound?
It’s pop music. Stockholm basement pop. My music is emotional and lyrical driven but it makes you feel hot and ready for poppers. Happy, angry, sad, sexy. I usually try to make it sound like the way the very specific blue light that hits at midnight looks like in Summer in Sweden. It’s emotional but in the absolute comfiest way. The kind of emotion that is like, “I don’t want this night to be over because it’s too good”. You know when the present is nostalgic? That’s what I want you to feel most of the time.
Did music come naturally to you? What was the initial spark that got you into it?
I sang all the time as a kid. And I liked to write stories. Now when I look back, I think it was the whole package that got me sold. The pop star. Fashion, visual concepts, dancing, writing my own music, writing stories, expressing myself in all ways possible. It just appealed to me and helped me find myself.

Which artists initially inspired you?
When I was really young; Shakira. Christina Aguilera. Britney Spears. Obviously. And Hannah Montana because her name was Hanna, like me, and she liked to sing, like me. The bar was low there.
Which artists are on repeat for you right now?
Kehlani. She never seems to STOP it’s crazy, the quality is always 110%. And I think people should keep an eye out for ADÉLA. She’s coming for everyone.
What roles do beauty & personal style play in your work and expression?
Everything. I get weird without it.
Do you have a uniform - or a more experimental approach when it comes to style?
It all depends on what side of the bed I wake up on. But I don’t like to feel bland, no.
For those who weren’t there, what was the energy of Roskilde this year? What was your experience performing?
It was one of the best crowds I’ve experienced!!! I was so gagged!!! I want every show to be like that moving forward and it gave me so much life to make that happen. I don’t always get to play with a big LED screen, with my own live visual jockey, on a big stage, with a rehearsed band (+ a customized top made for this specific gig). It’s the kind of show I want to be able to pull up with and bring to the table. Before the gig I felt like I didn’t belong on that lineup. After the gig, I felt like I belonged on every lineup in the world because the crowd made me feel that way!!! And if we can manage to do that together as crowd + artist then maybe we can create a litttt space for us to enjoy because we need more of those in this fucked up world! So thanks Roskilde for creating such a beautiful moment together with me!!!
Do you see music as a catalyst for change? If so, how has it changed you?
YES.
