We’ve spent years pointing out the plastics hiding in your beauty routine, but the problem doesn’t stop at what you put on your face - it extends to how information is made and consumed. Glossy magazines are often printed on virgin paper with toxic inks, bleached aggressively, overproduced, and discarded just as quickly as they’re consumed.
Submission Magazine rejects that cycle. Instead of relying on virgin pulp, toxic bleaching agents, and energy-heavy offset printing, our magazine is produced using 100% post-consumer recycled paper, chlorine-free processing, and wind-powered manufacturing. It’s printed digitally to eliminate excess, overruns, and landfill fodder and is held together with a natural rubber and cotton band to avoid the use of toxic glues. The result is a physical object that respects both the content it carries and the environment it exists in - proof that print can still be radical when it’s made with care, intention, and accountability.
